Introducing sustainable food providers – Sacred Food
Sacred Food is run by two altruistic chefs, Corinna and Jack. Their mission to celebrate and share the sacred relationship food can have with our bodies, and we can have with our food. They offer a delivery service in Gozo for their homemade immunity boosting treats which range from baked and savoury goods, fermented foods, and ready cooked meals.
With a key focus on food rescue, waste reduction, and recycling, their sustainable ethos encourages us to critically reflect on the story of our food, where it comes from and how it was prepared. It also highlights how we can empower ourselves with our food, how it can nourish our bodies and how our choices can nourish our natural environments.
Corinna comes from an Italian trattoria style background shaping her intimate relationship with food and Jack’s adventures as a nomadic chef connected him with different types of cuisine. They brought their ideas together which created the principles of the Sacred Food project.
This year they launched the ‘Feed a family’ initiative in collaboration with the Gozo Food Bank, during which they raised funds and cooked healthy meals for local families in need. Find out more about that here.
